Sami Pihlström is Professor of Philosophy of Religion at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and the Director of the Centre of Excellence, "Meliorist Philosophy of Suffering" (Research Council of Finland, 2026-2033). He is also, among other things, a former President of the Philosophical Society of Finland. He has published widely on pragmatism, philosophy of religion, ethics, metaphysics, philosophical anthropology, and transcendental philosophy.
