作者簡介

Young Hee Lee has been a Director of the Institute of Low-Dimensional Quantum Materials at Hubei University of Technology (HBUT). He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Kent State University, Ohio, in 1986. Prior to joining HBUT in 2025, he served as a Director of the Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), since 2012. He was elected as a member of Korea Academy of Science and Technology in 2007 and a foreign member of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. He serves as an associate editor of ACS Nano. His honors include being named the first SKKU Fellow in 2004, the Science Award from the Korean Physical Society in 2005 and nominated as a National Scholar by Ministry of Education in 2006. He got Sudang prize in 2015, Kyung Am prize in 2019, and Song-Bong prize in 2020 in Korea. He also got the Lee Hsun Research Award from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007 and the Einstein Award from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. Prof. Lee's work has focused on understanding the fundamental properties in low dimensional materials and hybrid heterostructures to implement unique physical and chemical properties. His research covers carrier dynamics/carrier multiplication phenomena, hot carrier solar cells, low-power consumption electronics and spintronics, Bose-Einstein condensation in solids, and quantum mechanical tunneling phenomena. He have led nanoscience and also nanotechnology for pioneering woks on synthesis and engineering of electronic and atomic structures of carbon nanotubes and graphene, other 2D materials and their applications to electronic and optoelectronic devices, spintronics, and energy harvest.

Ki Kang Kim is a Professor in the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). He joined SKKU as an Associate Professor in 2019 and was later promoted to Full Professor. Prior to this, he served as an Associate Professor (September 2018-August 2019) and Assistant Professor (September 2012-August 2018) in the Department of Energy and Materials Engineering at Dongguk University, Seoul. He also held postdoctoral research positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from April 2009 to August 2012 and at SKKU from September 2008 to March 2009. He has received several recognitions, including being selected by Y-KAST as one of the "34 Young Researchers to Lead Korean Science" in 2020 and by POSTECH and Dong-A Ilbo as one of the "30 Young Scientists to Shine Korea" in 2016. Prof. Kim leads the Novel Nanomaterial Research (NNR) Group, focusing on the growth, synthesis, and characterization of single-crystal two-dimensional (2D) and low-dimensional materials, including carbon nanotubes, hexagonal boron nitride, graphene, and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), for next-generation electronic and energy device applications.
