The book is a translation of the German third edition "Alpin- und Höhenmedizin", which hast been extensively updated: new chapters have been added on pulse oximetry at high-altitude, neurological and psychiatric emergencies in the mountains, multiple trauma in the mountains, suspension syndrome, an new search and rescue technology in the mountains. Numerous other chapters have been updated and thoroughly revised.
