This book covers all aspects of trigeminal neuralgia (TGN) which is a common yet very painful condition of face and scalp. Chapters include historical perspective of the condition, clinical presentations, diagnosis, management strategy, drug therapy, different interventional techniques utilized, and non-invasive modalities offered. The book has ample images to explain three main percutaneous procedures carried out for this condition such as radiofrequency thermocoagulation, glycerol rhizolysis and balloon microcompression in detail. 作者簡介

Dr Girija Prasad Rath is a Professor of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care at the Neurosciences Centre, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He completed three years of exclusive training in Neuroanaesthesiology at AIIMS, and is among the first group of anaesthesiologists in India to hold a super-specialisation degree (DM-Neuroanaesthesiology).

Dr Rath is an editorial board member for the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia, and has served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (JNACC) since its inception. He is a Past Treasurer of the Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (ISNACC), and is an active member of international organisations including the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC) and Asian Society for Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care (ASNACC). He has been an invited speaker at the scientific meetings of various Anaesthesia societies in India and abroad, e.g. EuroNeuro, the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA), Neuroanaesthesia Symposium (NAS) of Malaysia, and ASNACC Singapore. He has received an ICMR International Fellowship and is a Fellow of the India College of Anaesthesiologists (FICA).

Dr Rath has published more than 200 scientific articles in prominent international journals. His main areas of interest include Awake Craniotomy and Neuroanesthesia practices in children. He was involved in the first successful separation surgery on conjoined craniopagus twins in India, and was honoured for this achievement. He is also involved in pain practice, with a special focus on the management of Trigeminal Neuralgia.
