Gender and Development: Perspectives from Australia and the Pacific

Annabel Dulhunty is Senior Lecturer at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, Canberra. She is a development studies and social policy scholar. Annabel is an Executive Committee Member of the Development Studies Association of Australia. Annabel draws on her extensive experience as an aid practitioner in the Pacific, Latin America, Africa and South Asia to guide her research on global gender equality, human rights and social justice.

Sharon Bessell is Professor at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, Canberra. She is the Director of the Children's Policy Centre and co-host of Policy Forum Pod. Sharon's research focuses on the gendered and generational nature of poverty. She previously co-led the Individual Deprivation Measure project, which focused on gender sensitive measurement of poverty, and is currently leading the More for Children project, which aims to understand and respond to children's experiences of poverty. Sharon is internationally recognised as an award-winning leader in rights-based research methodologies and ethics.
