Prof. Yaan Hu, is Chief Engineer of Nanjing Institute of Water Resources Science, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Transportation and National Energy Administration. He is also an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is an expert in the field of inland waterway transportation engineering. With a career dedicated to the research of navigational hydraulics and hydroengineering, Prof. Hu Yaan has led and completed over 100 significant projects. These include national key research and development programs, initiatives funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and various large-scale scientific and technological projects in water conservancy, hydropower, and water transportation engineering. His work is internationally recognized for its originality and significant impact. Prof. Hu Yaan's contributions have been crucial in addressing complex hydraulic technical challenges in major hydropower stations such as Jinping and Baihetan. His research achievements have earned him three second prizes in national scientific and technological progress, one second prize in national technological invention, and numerous first and special prizes at provincial and ministerial levels. He holds 56 invention patents and has been instrumental in authoring 16 industry standards. His accolades include the First National Innovation Prize, the 13th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize, and the Third Outstanding Engineer Prize. Additionally, he is a recipient of the State Council Government Special Allowance, highlighting his remarkable contributions to engineering and his influential role in advancing the field of inland water transport engineering in China and internationally.
Mr. Marc Sas is a senior international expert with over 45 years of experience in coastal, port and marine engineering. He is an experienced project manager having managed and advised numerous port and marine projects around the world related to his field of expertise. Throughout the years Marc also gained significant experience in dredging and ship navigation studies. He graduated as a civil engineer at the university of Leuven in 1979. During his stay at the Hydraulics Laboratory of the university of Leuven he studied hydropower plants in Bolivia (reservoir sedimentation and waterhammer).He joined IMDC in 1985 and was involved in dredging, marine and sedimentation studies for more than 35 years. As a specialist in hydrodynamic and cohesive sediment transport modelling he conducted a number of studies for the development of the port of Antwerp. He was in charge of numerous field measurement campaigns in Belgium and abroad to collect metocean data for dredging and marine studies. He has built up a wide experience in environmental aspects of dredging, especially turbidity around dredging activities. He was in charge of many projects, dealing with the design of marine infrastructure: breakwaters, coastal defences, intakes, outfalls, landfalls of offshore pipelines and offshore windfarms.
Prof. Feng Jin, a Yangtze River Scholars Distinguished Professor and head of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at Tsinghua University, specializes in dam engineering and concrete technology. Since 2000, he has focused on Rock-Filled Concrete (RFC) technology, which has been applied in over 200 projects, including 150 RFC dams in China. He has published over 300 technical papers, including 100 in English journals. He led the development of Chinese standards for RFC and coordinated an ICOLD bulletin on RFC dams. His contributions have earned him multiple national awards, including three Second Class Prizes of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
Mr. Sheng'an Zheng was elected as Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Society for Hydropower Engineering (CSHE) by the end of 2022. Prior to joining CSHE, he has been serving as President of POWERCHINA Chengdu Engineering Cooperation Ltd, Assistant General Manager of POWERCHINA and President of China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute (CREEI) from 2001-2021. He is a well-known hydropower expert in China and enjoys special government allowance from the State Council. He has been long-term engaged in hydropower engineering design, scientific research and management and gained many experience and achievements. He directed and participated design and technical breakthrough for many large hydropower stations, such as Xiluodu Hydropower Station in Jinsha River, Pubugou Hydropower Station in Dadu River and Jinping I Hydropower Station. He directed planning and research on the 14th Five-Year Plan (FYP) on Renewable Energy Development (2021-2025).
Dr. Gensheng Zhao is Professor and Senior Engineer from Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (China) and Researcher of Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands). He completed his PhD project in Hydraulic Engineering and obtained PhD degree in Delft University of Technology in 2014. Since 2019, Dr. Zhao has been working as the managing director of the Joint Research Center of Water Science and Engineering (State Level) to coordinate/ explore the international projects and collaborations in the field of water science and engineering in the world.作者簡介(中文翻譯)
