Sharat Sharma is an officer of Indian Railway Services of Electrical Engineers- 1980 batch, former Director operations Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (2013-2017) and government nominee Directors on the board of Directors of Chennai and Kochi metros, is presently a freelance adviser for major and Mega contracts and project execution to Government undertakings and several private/multinational companies, an Arbitrator and Member of Dispute Resolution Board. He has wide experience of more than 44 years in Infrastructure construction, Railway Operations and Maintenance & Metro construction, Operation & Maintenance. He is known in the industry for innovative contract and project management skills and the successful turnaround of Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited.​
