Dr. Xiaoyi Liu was born in Ya'an, Sichuan Province, China. He took the first national college entrance examination after the reform and opening up in 1977 and entered the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of Shanghai Jiaotong University. After returning to China, he worked as a senior technical manager at Great Wall Motor, responsible for vehicle cost planning and light weighting, and leading the cost reduction and efficiency work of various brands.
