作者簡介

Dr. Ankhi Banerjee is currently working as an Associate Professor at Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Her research interests include housing affordability, livability and urban infrastructure, urban design, and sustainable tourism. Dr. Banerjee has been closely associated with several projects based on smart urban regeneration, development of index as a measure of happiness, improvement of corridor-based traffic mobility and integrated housing and transportation model. Dr. Ankhi Banerjee has completed her graduation in Architecture and post-graduation in Urban Design from Jadavpur University and her doctoral research from IIT Kharagpur.

Dr. Gajanand S. Sharma is currently an Assistant Professor at the Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management, IIT Kharagpur. He earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2022. Prior to his current role, he gained international experience as a postdoctoral researcher at The University of Memphis, USA, for one year. His research focuses on creating a more accessible, equitable, and safer transportation system, with his findings published in reputed international journals and conferences.

Dr. Bharath Haridas Aithal serves as Associate Professor at Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur His work bridges geospatial science, urban morphology, Disaster management, Environmental management and remote sensing. Over the course of his career, he has contributed significantly to advancing research on urban transformation, fractal analysis, and the application of deep learning to spatial studies through more than 200 publications. Beyond his scholarly output, he has played a central role in orchestrating national symposiums, shaping curricula, and guiding institutional communications that highlight both innovation and tradition. His leadership is marked by a commitment to mentoring young researchers, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and strengthening IIT Kharagpur's position in global geospatial research. Prof. Aithal's vision combines analytical rigor with creative empathy, ensuring that his contributions resonate within academia and beyond.

Dr. Swati Maitra is currently an Associate Professor in Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management, IIT Kharagpur. She obtained her Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur, M.Tech. from IIT Bombay and B.E. from Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur (presently Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur) in Civil Engineering. Dr. Maitra is a researcher in the field of sustainable infrastructure development with major focus on transport infrastructure, concrete pavement and overlay analysis, design and performance evaluation, road safety, retrofitting and rehabilitation of existing built infrastructure and sustainable concrete and cementitious materials for infrastructure development. She is an active member of Indian Roads Congress Composite Pavement Committee (H-9). Dr. Maitra has several research publications in book chapters, international and national journals and conferences.

Dr. Arkopal Kishore Goswami, an Associate Professor and Chairperson, Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management (RCGSIDM), is also currently the Associate Dean, International Relations, IIT Kharagpur. Dr. Goswami has over 18 years of experience in the field of Urban Mobility and Travel Behavior. He has collaborated with researchers and practitioners from around the globe, including Japan, South Korea, Germany, UK, Colombia, and USA. He is a member of the Indian Road Congress (IRC) committee on Urban Roads (H-8), an Executive Committee Board Member of the Transportation Research Group (TRG), India, and has previously served on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) committee on Roadside Maintenance Operations (AHD50). He mentors the Multimodal Urban Sustainable Transportation (MUST) laboratory at RCGSIDM, and has published and presented the team's work in journals and conferences of international repute. He received his PhD from University of Virginia in Civil Engineering, and was conferred with the Faculty Excellence Award by IIT Kharagpur in the year 2022.
